A medium-sized specimen of the tabulate coral Favosites sp. collected on Lake Michigan's northern shore.
The specimen is mostly silicified with microcrystalline quartz/chalcedony, with some limestone matrix still present.
Favosites was common during the Silurian and Devonian periods.
